Er Pang 二胖 opened inside Genting Casino Liverpool in November, bringing authentic Sichuan-style hot pot and modern Cantonese cooking to the edge of the city's historic Chinatown quarter — reachable through the casino's Benson Street entrance.
The name means "little fatty" in Mandarin — a warm, affectionate nickname that says exactly what the food is meant to do: feed you generously, and send you home happy.
Since opening, the restaurant has built a loyal following for its late-night hours, bubbling hot pot tables, and a dining room that only gets livelier as the evening goes on.
700+ guests, lion dancers, and a room in full celebration
Every Chinese New Year, Genting Casino Liverpool — home to Er Pang — puts on one of the city's most talked-about celebrations: a lion dance troupe, festive decorations throughout the venue, and a complimentary buffet that drew more than 700 guests through the doors during the most recent celebration.
Er Pang's kitchen is part of what makes the night — serving hot pot and Cantonese favourites to a room dressed head to toe in red and gold.
